Decosimo is pleased to announce Kathleen R. Mitts, CPA has been named a Principal of Joseph Decosimo and Company, LLC. Mrs. Mitts has 22 years experience in public accounting with 20 years specifically in the tax services area. She joined Decosimo's
Cincinnati office in 2003 to assist the tax practice after 19 years with other regional and local accounting firms.
Her tax consulting experience includes comprehensive corporate, S corporation, partnership and individual research and planning, review and compliance, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service as well as other state and local tax authorities. Her successful representation before the Internal Revenue Service has included individuals, corporations and partnerships regarding examinations, appeals, collections, amendments, tax exempt status application and other ancillary agency communications.
Mike Gentry is a tax principal with Decosimo's
Cincinnati office and stated, "Kathy brings an enthusiastic and professional approach with a great deal of personal service experience in the tax planning arena."

Mrs. Mitts' commitment to personal service was one of the contributing factors in being honored as one of
Cincinnati 's Top Ten Women Accountants by Women's Business Cincinnati magazine.
Mrs. Mitts is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA). She has served as the State Taxation Committee Chair of the OSCPA. Mrs. Mitts is currently a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the OSCPA and she is actively involved on its State Tax Legislation and Members' Initiative Committees.
