United Way Announces Nick Decosimo as 2006 Campaign Chairman
Mr. Decosimo is the third Decosimo family member and the fourth employee of Joseph Decosimo and Company to lead the community campaign for our local United Way. "The Decosimo family has a long relationship with United Way, supporting our work through generous philanthropic contributions as well as volunteering in leadership positions," said Eva Dillard, president of United Way of Greater Chattanooga. "We are honored that Nick has accepted the challenging role of chairman and has already dedicated so much energy in developing strategies for a successful campaign." Mr. Decosimo's community involvement goes beyond the support of United Way. Some of his affiliations include board memberships with several organizations, including the Memorial Healthcare Foundation, the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation and the Rotary Club. He currently serves as the treasurer for the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga. Mr. Decosimo also served as the Annual Campaign Chairman for Allied Arts in 1995. "The United Way is important to our community," said Nick Decosimo, United Way campaign chair. "It's the best way to help the largest number of people in the most responsible and efficient way. One of the two aspects of the definition of true religion is to care for those who are least able to pay us back. United Way is an effective method for doing just that." For more information about United Way of Greater Chattanooga or to make a contribution to the community campaign, call 752-0300 or visit www.uwchatt.org. United Way of Greater Chattanooga funds nearly 80 vital, local programs that strengthen families, improve community health and assure readiness for school and work. Thanks to an endowment fund that covers all overhead and administrative expenses, 100 percent of contributions goes directly to these services to improve lives in greater Chattanooga, northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama. |
