Decosimo I.T Director Partnering with SANS Institute to Offer Security Essentials Curriculum in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, TN—Joseph Decosimo and Company, PLLC, a leading regional accounting and business advisory firm, is pleased to announce that its Information Technology (I.T.) Director Brian D. Joyce has partnered with the widely recognized leader in information security training and certification, the SANS Institute, to offer a 10-week SANS Security Essentials program in Chattanooga.

The training course will be held on Tuesday evenings from Sept. 16 to Nov. 18 at Decosimo’s conference suite in the Tallan Financial Center. Reduced tuition fees are available through Aug. 19. For additional information about registration, contact Brian Joyce at (423) 756-7100 or visit the SANS website.

The comprehensive security course is well suited for security professionals and managers who want to fill the gaps in their understanding of technical information security, for professionals who want to understand information security beyond simple terminology and concepts, as well as anyone new to information security with some background in information systems and networking. The SANS Security Essentials course will also prepare I.T. professionals for the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC). For Federal government employees and contractors, the course also qualifies for Level II and III certification under DoD 8570 requirements.

Brian Joyce, a SANS Mentor, will lead weekly class discussions, provide hands-on demonstrations, review the most prominent features and answer questions related to the SANS Security Essentials course material.
