CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 24, 2011) -- Decosimo Certified Public Accountants will host its annual Decosimo Tax Seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Chattanooga Convention Center from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s seminar will feature a federal tax update in the morning and breakout sessions on tax and business management issues in the afternoon. Accountants, attorneys and other business professionals may register for the event by clicking here. The registration fee is $99 for the full-day seminar, which includes breakfast and lunch, or $49 for participants who wish to attend the three afternoon breakout sessions only. Attendees may earn up to 8 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) and 6.67 hours of TN and GA continuing legal education (CLE). The federal tax update will be presented by Rick Taylor, the partner in charge of tax with Wipfli, LLP, who has more than 30 years experience crafting tax planning strategies for unique client situations. Mr. Taylor has co-authored three technical tax books and was a developer and domain expert for two popular tax planning software programs. Afternoon breakout sessions will include tax and business management tracks. Tax track offerings are: “Estate Planning” presented by Rick Taylor of Wipfli, LLP; “Employment Law” presented by Maury Nicely of Evans, Harrison, Hackett, PLLC; and “State and Sales Tax Issues” presented by Sarah Denton of Decosimo. Business Management track offerings are: “Developing and Implementing Your Business Plan” presented by Terry Massey of AmeriStride, LLC; “Using the Internet to Drive Business” presented by Tracey Carisch of Sage Consulting; and a panel discussion addressing “What to Do When the Bank Says No” featuring panelists Sid Chambless of Nashville Capital Network, Casey Hammontree of Tenth Street Capital and Robert Clark of Aquasentinel. Decosimo has hosted annual tax and accounting seminars for more than 30 years.
